10 Tips to Make the Masajid Youth Friendly
WHERE EVERYONE COMES FOR WORSHIP & FUN
I’ve come up with a list from the different masajid I’ve been to that might have one or two of the items below, and with some of the things I wish were at the masajid, and of course my kids added what they’d love too.
Everything from online presence, to occasional activities or to the everyday experience.
- Social Media Accounts (Facebook at least, to list events, activities, prayer times etc…)
- Halal Entertainment Events (Board Game Night, Nasheeds, Poetry Night, Rehearsed Play’s)
- Library (where people can borrow books or hang out to read).
- Playground
- Basketball Court or at least a net
- Pool or arrange a time to book a local pool for ladies only, or male only times or family time.
- Open area for picnics or bbq’s (If the area permits.)
- Youth Halaqa
- Vending Machines (Cold drinks, hot drinks and snacks)
- Trips (Hiking, Picnics, BBQ’s, Trampoline Parks, ZipLining, Camping)
What does your masjid do to make it fun for all? Do you have any other ideas to add to the list? Please share, so we can make our masajid a place where everyone feels welcome and can enjoy.
