The Blessed 10 Days
DHUL HIJJAH

I cannot believe we are now in the blessed first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah. Eid is literally around the corner. Where has all that time gone?
I know we often focus a lot more on Ramadan, and more so in the last 10 nights. But the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah are so important and shouldn’t be neglected. It’s not only for hajjis, but us too at home.
Ibn Abbas (ra) reported the Prophet Muhammed (saw) said, “There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah, than these 10 days.” – Sahih Al Bukhari
So what can we do?
- Fast the first 9 days, or at least the day of Arafat
- Give sadaqa
- Say “Allah Akbar,” “SubhanAllah,” “Alhumdilillah,” and “IstaghfirAllah,” as many times as you can
- Make dua (supplication)
- Pray your Fard (mandatory) prayers on time
- Pray the sunnah (extra) prayers too
- Read/recite Quran
- Listen to Islamic lectures
- Arrange if you can you udhiyah (sacrifice) with your local organizations
Sheikh Omar Suleiman’s Dhul Hijjah series is amazing, make sure to listen, it does not disappoint. Please share what you are planning for these special days and for Eid? Would love to hear your plans.
Wishing you a blessed and beneficial first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah.
